There is a Balm in Gilead

“Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there?
Why then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of my people?
(Jeremiah 8:22, NKJV)

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

Some times I feel discouraged,
And think my work’s in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

If you can’t preach like Peter,
If you can’t pray like Paul,
Just tell the love of Jesus,
And say He died for all.

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

  1. Mary Brucker

    I NEED THAT BALM NOW BADLY,

  2. Dear Mary, Jesus loves you. If you only knew how much. This song is an old African American spiritual, born out of slavery. Even as they suffered, they had hope.

    I am praying for you. Keep trusting Jesus and keep praying. The best is yet to come.
