“How heart-cheering to the believer is the delight which God has in his saints! We cannot see any reason in ourselves why the Lord should take pleasure in us; we cannot take delight in ourselves, for we often have to groan, being burdened; conscious of our sinfulness, and deploring our unfaithfulness; and we fear that God’s people cannot take much delight in us, for they must perceive so much of our imperfections and our follies, that they may rather lament our infirmities than admire our graces. But we love to dwell upon this transcendent truth, this glorious mystery: that as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so does the Lord rejoice over us.” – Charles Spurgeon

“Where does your security lie? Is God your refuge, your hiding place, your stronghold, your shepherd, your counselor, your friend, your redeemer, your saviour, your guide? If He is, you don’t need to search any further for security.” – Elisabeth Elliot

“There are no accidents to those who abide wholly within the will of God. There may be events which men outside will look upon as accidents, but when life is lived in the center of the circle of the Divine will, nothing can approach it save those things which are foreordained, and which are integral parts of the Divine plan, and the Divine program.” – G. Campbell Morgan

“If I read the great banquet invitation story of Jesus correctly, the rich and famous, the movers and shakers are actually invited first, but they seem to have other pursuits on their minds. I guess the traffic on that road will be composed largely of us down-the-roaders, and back-alley dwellers and country folks beyond the hedges.” – Gayle Erwin

“We could never be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world.” – Helen Keller

I love this one Randy, So often I tend to lean on people and things to be secure, God forgive me, you need to be my source.

  2. I am guilty too, Mary. Too often I rely on myself. God forgive me.
